Weather forecasters are calling for massive snow storm to hit the Boston area with as much as 2 feet of snow being predicted as the storm hammers the eastern seaboard. While many residents will be prepping for the storm by grocery shopping and bundling up, very few will be taking action to prevent against flooding damage.
With this much snow and cold temperatures, there are two things you have to be cautious of:
1) Pipes Freezing – especially if the pipes are outside and unprotected, you run a greater risk of having them freeze up and potentially cause Boston flood damage to your property. We’ve written previously about things you can do to prevent water damage from frozen pipes so if you need some tips, please see our previous post!
2) Snow melt – 2 feet of snow can quickly turn into a lot of water. It could mean you end up needing Boston basement flood cleaning services unless you’ve taken the appropriate steps to protect your home. Again, if you need some tips you can see our previous post on how to prevent your basement from flooding.
Don’t be one of the people that ends up calling us for help! We know you’ve got a lot to prepare for with the storm, but a few precautionary steps can also help make sure you don’t end up calling our Boston water damage restoration company!
