Can I save my water damaged laminate floors?

Posted by Matt Buchanan

The answer is no, unfortunately.  If someone tells you otherwise, and that they can fix it, we’d strongly suggest you thank them for their time and move on!

laminate-flooring-water-damageLaminate flooring uses a top-layer that is comprised of paper and so any amount of water damage will ruin the floors and no amount of drying will return them to their original state.

If you’ve experienced water damage to your laminate floors, unfortunately they will need to be torn out and replaced.  But what’s more troubling is making sure the sub-floor is dried out properly.

That is something that should always be done by a professional water damage company as only trained professionals will have the equipment necessary to accurately determine when the moisture has been effectively removed from the structure.
