Seconds count when it comes to flooding

Out_of_date_clock_icon.svgIf you think you have all the time in the world to deal with your water damage issue, please understand this: you have about 48 hours before the moisture in your home breeds toxic black mold. And now think about this: it usually takes around 72 hours to properly dry out a structure and remove the moisture that causes the mold. So even if you call immediately after the flooding damage occurs, we still need to take preventative measures to stop mold. There is literally no room for error, on your part or ours.

Concord flood companies should be using the same pricing

Free_EstimatesIf you’ve inquired about other home services before and received multiple quotes ranging in price, then you’ll probably be surprised to find out we all charge the same thing. How is that possible? Well, we all have to use the same pricing software that your insurance company uses. So you really don’t need to get multiple estimates, as they are all going to be the same. We always offer you a free, no obligation flood restoration estimate, just give us a call and we are on our way!

If you’re still not sure what we mean we say all Concord flooding cleanup companies charge the same rates, watch the video below to understand how the estimating process works with us:

Some companies don’t screen their employees…yikes

checklistWhen cleaning up flooding in a home, technicians will need to go in and out of your home for a few days. What if those people were convicted burglars or worse, violent felons? Or what if they showed up drunk or high on drugs? It can happen if you hire the wrong flood restoration service. At RestorationEze, all of the technicians we employ have passed background screening and pass random drug and alcohol tests. The bottom line is this: if we wouldn’t want them to come into our house, they’re not going to be in yours.

Flood mitigation services should always follow a certain protocol

iicrc-logoIn our business, there isn’t a thousand ways to skin a cat. While a flood can cause a variety of different damages, and every flood is different, the proper response is laid out in the IICRC S500 guide. For whatever we might come up against, it has an answer for what the proper procedure is. Sadly, many flooding damage companies have never even read it, much less used it in their daily activities. We always follow the proper procedures during every job so that nothing is left to chance when it comes to fixing your property!

Are you curious as to what you should expect should you need us to come in and repair your home after a flood? Watch the video below to see the steps typically required:

Ways to protect your home from flood damage

Sometimes there’s just nothing you can do. But many of the flood jobs we service never needed to happen. Here are some of the most common causes of preventable water damage we see, and ways you can reduce the risk of them happening to you.

gutter_cleaningWater pooling next to the foundation of the house and leaking through the basement walls. This usually happens because the home’s gutters are bad. Either they are in a state of disrepair or they need to be cleaned. Either way, twice a year, inspect your gutters and make sure they are doing their job! It’s so easy, and usually free assuming the only problem is they are full of leaves!

Sump pump failure. Does your basement have a sump pump? If not, have one installed, especially if you live in a flood plain or the basement is finished. If you already have one, test it once every six months or so to make sure it’s working properly. And if you don’t already have an alternate power source, consider installing a backup generator in the event the power goes out and the batteries die while still trying to pump water out.

Bursted pipes. Is your cellar or basement not climate controlled? If it also contains many of the plumbing pipes servicing your home, those pipes can freeze in cold weather and burst. The amount of water that will send into your basement will blow your mind. Wrap the pipes in insulation…it’s really cheap to do and could end up saving you a lot of money in the future!
