When you’re facing a flood in your home, a fast response is crucial!

Whether it’s a sewage back-up, rain water, or water from a busted water heater, the goal is the same:  get the water out quickly and begin the drying process before the water damage is permanent.

Can you dry out my hardwood floors?

In many cases we can.  Assuming we’re able to begin the process of drying and restoration shortly after they were flooded by water, and assuming the water category isn’t toxic, we can usually save your floors.  By using a drying system specifically designed for “hard surfaces” like wood floors, we can create an air tight barrier on the floor surface and such out any moisture from the floors and the sub-floor.

Can you save my wet carpets?

Your carpets are obviously more porous than hardwood floors, meaning they’ll absorb even more moisture.  And that includes the carpet pad as well.  In many instances, wet carpets can be dried out fully along with the carpet pad.  Of course, in some cases they must be replaced, but we use a weighted extraction tool that allows us to walk the soaked area and pull up almost all moisture from your carpets.

What can happen if I attempt the flood clean-up process myself?

Cleaning up flood damage on your own can come back to bite you in the backside.  Unless you’re a trained restoration professional with access to the right equipment, chances of your property being fully dried out are slim to none.

You won’t find all of the moisture.

Sitting water will rot and decay any structure is it stays present for long enough.  That’s why one of the most important things a flood cleanup company will do is make sure to find all of the water so that any effected areas are properly dried out and will not sustain further flood damage.

We have special equipment that allows us to scan your property and find every drop of moisture in the walls, flooring and anywhere else that it won’t be readily viewable by just looking.  If you were to clean flood damage on your own, there’s a good chance you don’t even know what to look for, so properly restoring the damage is a hopeless cause.

You’ll face a mold problem later.

Water soaked walls and floors aren’t just susceptible to getting rotted and warping, they also create a perfect home for mold.  Black mold can cause serious health issues if not remediated properly.  From respiratory and immune illnesses, to severe complications from allergic reactions, mold is not something to be taken lightly.  Tackling flood cleanup on your own could mean dealing with a mold problem later.  And you’ll be shocked when you find out just how expensive mold remediation can be…and oh yeah, it’s not covered by your insurance company so you’ll be paying out of pocket!
