Here’s some questions we get asked from customers, hopefully they help you get a better sense for how the water damage cleanup process works and for who we are!

If I have a water emergency what is the first thing I should do?

If you’re still experiencing flooding and it’s coming from inside the home, find the source and get it stopped.  Worst case, identify the shut-off valve for your home’s main water supply and turn that off.  If doing so puts you near water and electrical outlets or chords, shut off that portion of your home’s electricity before proceeding.  It can be a dangerous situation, if you do not feel comfortable doing this, call us immediately!

Can’t I just vacuum up the water and rent some air movers and call it good?

Unfortunately it isn’t that simple.  Moisture hides where you can’t see it.  Whether it’s behind walls or within your floor’s foundation, not identifying it and properly drying it can mean black mold.  And if you think you have problems now, wait until you’re dealing with a mold issue and you call your insurance company.  Your policy does not cover mold, especially if it was the result of water damage you attempted to fix yourself.

To get a better sense for what professional water restoration services entail, watch the video below. As you’ll see, there is a lot of training, equipment, and experience that goes into properly restoring a home after it has suffered from water damage.

What does your company do to make sure my property is dry and safe?

First we use infrared moisture detection equipment to determine every square inch of your property that has unacceptable levels of moisture.  Then we use water extraction systems to remove the majority of water still standing on the property.  Next, we place industrial strength drying equipment such that it rapidly dries any remaining water.  During that process we also employ dehumidifiers equipped with exhaust systems that remove any moisture that evaporates into the air.

Can you assist me in dealing with my insurance claim?

We’re more than happy to assist you with that process.  As an insurance approved restoration provider, our staff works with insurance adjusters on a daily basis to assist our customers settle their claims.

Is my water loss covered by policy?

No two policies are the same so it’s impossible to say.  But, most policies only cover water damage that is the result of water sources that occur within your home’s walls or structure.  In other words, if water from a heavy rain were to find its way into your home, that is not typically a covered event.  But if your sewer backs-up or your dishwasher decides it’s done and sprays water everywhere, these are usually covered by your policy.

Where do you service?

The entire Seattle area: Kent, Issaquah, Newport Hills, SeaTac, Shorewood, Federal Way, Bellard, Sammamish, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Kenmore, Richmond Highlands, Lynnwodd, Burien, Renton, and surrounding suburbs.

How quickly can you get to my property?

We have crews scattered throughout the area, so chances are we can usually be there within 30-60 minutes and many times sooner!

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes.  We will arrive on-site and immediately perform a water damage assessment and restoration protocol where we lay out what is damaged and what we will do to make sure it’s restored.  At that time you’ll receive a written estimate outlining all costs associated with the work we deem necessary.

We give you the best water damage Seattle estimate!

When we provide you with a free cost quote to cleanup water damage on your property, it’s a price you can trust.  And we’re not just saying that, it’s a fact.  How can we be so confident?  Because our water damage Seattle, WA contractors use the same system that your adjuster would use to price the cost of mitigating the damage.  It is called Xactimate, and it’s great for you because you know the estimate is being calculated by a third party and it’s basing the costs on the already accepted prices insurers reimburse for any service you may need.  Watch this video to learn more…

What about my water damaged floors?

injectidry-water-damage-wood-floor-systemThis goes for your floors and any other area of your home: if we can quickly dry the area, we prefer to do that instead of replacing the area. When it comes to wet carpets and even soaked hardwood floors, we have specialize drying equipment that can usually extract the moisture and dry out the areas in place. However, that is not the case if the area is damaged by raw sewage. In these instances, the protocol says porous surfaces must be removed and replaced. If clean or gray water has wicked up walls, in some cases we may need to perform a flood cut to dry out the wall cavity, but in many instances we can use non-intrusive drying systems to dry behind the walls! The same goes for drying out your wooden floors and subfloors!
